Badd Medicine here and its Last of Us reaction time!
What another fantastic episode. Very much the second part of last week’s Kansas City adventure, episode 5 of HBO’s The Last of Us is equal parts thrilling and distressing. Fugitive brothers Henry and Sam add a welcome layer of warmth to Joel and Ellie’s relationship, helping our protagonists progress on both their physical and emotional journeys, as well as leading them to one of the action high points in the series. It’s an unforgettable and explosive end to a chapter whose fuse steadily burned throughout this and the previous episode.

27.02.2023I hope Joel created a new save point after he took out the sniper.

26.02.2023Just finished watching the episode so I had to come and watch y’all’s reactions. Another fantastic and heartbreaking episode. 💜

26.02.2023The way the bloater (the big fuck off infected dude) ripped off Perry's head is the same as the death animation in the game when they grab you. Nice little detail I liked.

26.02.2023Excuse my language, but DAMN ….. I was not prepared at all for the ending. I knew the outcome, but it went into such intensity straight into such sadness. Talk about a rollercoaster of emotions. This episode was amazing !

26.02.2023Diamond Dave seems like he is suffering through this show lol

26.02.2023Can some one please give the man on the right a hug please? He felt that ending and needed a minute.
Same brother. Same

26.02.2023When Sam and Henry die in the game it absolutely destroyed me, keep in mind I was around 15 when the game came out in 2013. I couldn’t keep playing for a couple minutes, I was in utter shock.

26.02.2023Thx for the reaction

26.02.2023As a big, big fan of the game, I like the changes in this episodes. I love the show for being true tu the game but change enough to keep me invested and at the edge of my seat.

22.02.2023shoutout to the horrifying little kid clicker who's a gymnast/contortionist, Skye Belle Cowton 😂
and i really really loved ellie and sam's relationship in the show, the only bit i think i prefer the game over the show is the way henry reacted (might be nostalgia bias talking though, or the background music in the game lmao), but damn this was amazing, especially ellie's reaction to henry ending it

22.02.2023Did Joel take Henry’s backpack? 😭💔
SeeBee
22.02.2023Yes. Such a hard ride. 😔🤯😔

22.02.2023I don't blame anyone for their actions and motivations. However, no matter what they do, there are always consequences and repercussions.

22.02.2023I feel the game and show is more brutal and realistic toward a societal crumble of this magnitude during an epidemic of world ending proportions. Walking Dead doesn’t come close. It has the hopelessness of docuseries of the Black Death, or the pianist.

22.02.2023I think what Henry did was F'd up and I was hoping for his downfall. Rating out the people who are trying to fight for your freedom aswell as others just to save your little bro from leukemia isn't an objectively good trade off. How many parents or siblings died because of his decision?
A. R.
22.02.202330:00 there is always a clear line oak, people often times just don't want to see it. Sam was dying of leukemia, and I know your gonna hate this but he was a child who could not contribute as much as healthy adult can. But despite that in order to save him you have to give up a person (to death essentially and with full knowledge) who leads a resistance in an attempt to make people's lives better. That IS NOT OKAY.

22.02.2023Very sad episode! Sam and Henry worked well together! I wished we could have had more episodes with them! The Bloater was terrifying but when the horde of Corpysbides came out I was eeek! Reminds me of angry Red Ants that surround their victims! Kathleen was so stupid and just as bad as the
Libre alma
22.02.2023In the end Kathleen group is doomed now with that horde out

22.02.2023I guess you could say Ellie's blood is… bad medicine

21.02.2023Regarding not spoiling things, the big infected is named in the credits (as is the creepy af 'child clicker') so it's not really a spoiler to use the name.
Jovanie Nazaire
21.02.2023This is soo sad. Hery's first actual kill is his own brother, who he protected and the reason he betrayed kathleen's brother.

21.02.2023Right vs wrong is sometimes hard to figure out…but, there is always a right & wrong.
KillerBunny084
21.02.2023Fun fact – The actor who plays Perry played Tommy in the video game.

21.02.2023Whenever a "Protector" loses their "reason", they die too…….interesting part of the story.
Vernon Ingram
21.02.2023I think the difference that makes Henry a better person than Kathleen (even if he's not really the good guy) is that he felt guilty about flipping her brother to FEDRA; he said himself he thinks he's the bad guy, and you can see as he's talking to Joel that it weighs on him. Kathleen moves without hesitation or remorse, and although her anger is understandable, her actions are less understandable, like insisting on killing the children because they're 'with' Joel and Sam, or being angry that Joel and Ellie killed Bryan and whoever else when they were just defending themselves from an attack by her people. Henry did what he did out of desperation, but Kathleen's actions are nothing but petty and vengeful, even if the anger behind them is understandable.

21.02.2023This show is just so much. Man😔💜

21.02.2023That would be a bloater.

21.02.2023The life of a child does not have more value that a fully fledged adult.
Logically that is. No life is more important than another and as humans we are blessed/cursed with awareness that does NOT make us some special being in the grand scheme of things. BUT You wouldn't save a baby over the mother. The baby is replaceable and will not grow up missing one half of the most important person in its life. You lose the mother you lose a person with dreams, aspirations and someone's life partner. Yes it's a painful choice. But not a hard one

21.02.2023First off I have a new found respect for you Oak cause this was your best reaction I've seen you have in my opinion 💯🤘🏾😎

20.02.2023I would've maybe tried to stay and wait out the infected or maybe try and draw them somewhere else. They could've used one of those vehicles and that ammo. But obviously still pretty risky

20.02.2023Ellie is still a child herself, and she honestly thought it would work. Poor thing was doing her best.
Leigh Sawyer
20.02.2023I’m kinda glad Kathleen got eaten. She forgot she had people depending on her to keep them safe. Her bloodlust – ridiculous in the face of so much tragedy to go on a murder spree – got SO many of her people killed. She wasn’t capable of being in charge. Her unselfish brother getting killed leaving her ass in charge… THAT was the main tragedy of his loss. She was weak. Put her feelings over the humans in her care.
GECKO
20.02.2023We're on episode 5 and I have cried at every single episode so far. Let's see if 6 breaks the streak :') (it probably won't lol)

20.02.2023Boring conversation anyway

20.02.2023Twenty years Federa kept the city alive. Ten days of Kathleen’s takeover life wiped out.
Greater good versus personal freedom.
Valkyrie
20.02.2023I read somewhere, that Sam sat away, So he could hear her, of course, and he couldnt see her, So he wouldnt attack her, If she had left, She might not of been attacked but since she went to check on him, hoping her blood had worked and helped him, Which i genuinely think she thought it would, It breaks my heart, Made me cry
Peter
20.02.2023This is the first episode where I preferred the show version to the game version. In the game, they didn't make me care about Henry and Sam as much as they did in the show, and while the same is true of Bill and Frank, Bill and Frank's story did not involve Joel and Ellie, and this one did, so this is the first episode that was better than the game.
Alejo Montoya
20.02.2023I am so happy the guy in the right side for the first time reacted instead being a talker during the entire episode. Cheers for that 😅

20.02.2023I am hearing, but I’m conversationally fluent in ASL and I love that people are realizing how OP it would be in situations with sound-sensitive monsters:) a quiet place went there too!
If fungi finally figures out how to take over humans I am absolutely teaching everyone around me ASL 😉🙌🏻

19.02.2023I was thinking it would be so cool if after this season is done you guys could watch the main cutscenes from the game since you don't plan play it anyways! It would be so awesome!

19.02.2023This show hits heavy the same way Euphoria/GOT do, the HBO Max special, I have to watch cartoons afterward to decompress

19.02.2023if henry was his father, he would have let ellie and joel go at the end, dying on the inside after having to put sam down. its different being his older brother, the responsibility on ur shoulders being that ure alone together, u didnt birth him, but hes family, and all u have left. ure supposed to take care of him and protect him from the world. the amount of emotions running through his mind in that moment, ending himself was shutting all those voices inside his head down. RIP henry and sam </3
Nofinator
19.02.2023I love how close they're sticking to the game plot but I was really hoping they'd change how we part ways with Henry and Sam.
Not because it's badly written or performed, just because it….sucks 😭
Nofinator
19.02.2023Oak talking about there being no real good guys/bad guys is a theme the games lean into heavily. Sure there are some people who are just plain messed up, but generally everyone is doing what they need to do to survive.
Highlight of the reaction for me was Mason & Oak's repeated and horrified "WHAT IS THAT?!" as the bloater emerges, while Dave is in the middle trying not to burst with excitement🤣
Also really cool touch that it took Perry out with the death animation you'd see if you got killed by one in the game.
And all the scenes showing Sam drawing Henry as his super-hero were really tough to see knowing what was coming…
