Why go for king Midas, he has no DPS bonus with his upgrades, he have gold bonus. point is I choose hero with 100%dps/100%dps/100%dps/150%dps upgrades, so you already start with a good DMG
This is a complete waste of time, just ascend. You'll get back to that zone and be able to fly through it in no time if you keep ascending when it's optimal.
